So here it is October 28, and this weekend I plan to move a good portion of my inventory to Pawpaw's Porch in Hartselle.  Dread the move already, only because it is going to be really hard to decide what to move and what to keep here!  I am so excited though about the ability to start again, to focus on the things I really like as opposed to buying the huge variety of items that are required to have a successful business.  Hopefully you will take this 

journey with me and visit my booth there.  

It appears November will be our last full month of operation at Champagne Lane as several of our large dealers will be moving out by the end of the month.  It's alot of work to try to accomplish over the holidays and I understand their position.  That said, we will be closing our doors by December 15th unless something 

new develops.

I know its been a little while since I've posted anything.  Sorry, sometimes we just stay too busy, and between Facebook, Google+, Twitter and our website I just don't tend to the blog the way I should. 
 
I hope you have all had a nice spring, I know our weather has been a little persnickety, but its getting better.  The beautiful blooming forsythias and cherries are helping the mood immensely!
 
We have been busy in the mall welcoming new dealers and saying goodbye to a few of our old friends.  Be sure you come by to see all the new merchandise that's come in since Christmas.
 
Being that life is a journey that takes you down many different roads, I have come to a fork in mine and have made a significant decision:  the mall is for sale!  Champagne Lane Antique Mall has been a wonderful endeavor for the last three years and it is with reservations that I have come to this point.  As anyone who has ever owned a business knows, it is terrifically time consuming and I would like a little of that time back to spend with my grandchildren, mother, and of course my husband.  That said, if you or anyone you know would like the opportunity of owning a fun and rewarding business, please give us a call at the store and we'll chat.

Well Old Man Winter is certainly making his presence known across the nation this week.  Its a fine time to be looking at gardening catalogs and Pinterest ideas.  Soon we will again be traipsing to flea markets, junk sales, and longest yard sales.  Can't Wait!

One of our dealers has a pair of these canvas pictures in her booth and they invoke instant French into the place.  Wish I had room for them in my home, ah well.  I'm sure someone will be enjoying them soon enough.

 

Merry, Merry Christmas

 

Here it is a week 'til Christmas, my how time has flown....  Be sure you stop by the Mall for your Holiday shopping as we have many wonderful Christmas items that are being delivered daily by our vendors.  Unique and individual gifts abound as do the usual suspects such as books, glassware, furniture, and home décor.

Here it is November already with the Holidays just around the corner.  There are changes going on at the Mall with the addition of five new dealers and their wonderful wares.  Since it's time to start Christmas shopping I'm sure you'll want to come by the store to see all the new merchandise arriving daily by both our present and new dealers.   We will have our Christmas Open House the weekend of December 7th and we look forward to seeing you there.

Ok, so now its fall and time to start on a whole new decorating scheme.  All the warm wonderful colors, rustic settings and delicious eats.  A lot of fall longest yard sales and barn sales going on right now and I can't wait for each and every one!  Love the thrill of the hunt.  Come by the store and see all the changes going on and the arrival of plenty of fall decorating items.  Time to start on your Christmas shopping too!  Look forward to seeing you...

So glad its finally spring, love the garden and its beautiful flowers

Gosh its been a long time since I've posted a word.  Been a busy couple of months and doesn't look to let up soon.  Business has been good at the mall, lots of dealers moving in and out, bringing new merchandise with them.  We do have some booth space available if anyone would like to join us.  We have a wonderful time working both in our booth and in the store.

I have moved several times within the mall and will be moving again June 1.  Tremendous amount of work and planning involved with moving ALL your merchandise from one or two or three booths to a larger one.  Especially if you want it to look nice, which we do.  

Doing some shopping too, and now that the "longest yard sales" and antiques markets are kicking in, it will be most fun, and productive.  I never leave a long yard sale without my van full of goodies!  Its fun to search and find, and then to provide you the customer with all the new wares.   

Wonderful ideas and new vintage re-purposing going on out there too.  Its too bad I don't have the time to indulge my creative side, so I settle for bringing my rusty, chipped or vintage goodies to my booth and having it available for use by another creative brain.  We thank you for bringing pictures of the finished product back to the store for us to see!  

I will try really hard to improve my updates.  Went to Pinterest the other night for the first time in about three months, and before I knew it, two hours had passed.  But they have so many beautiful pictures and places, its hard to step away.  Makes you want to incorporate those locales and decorating schemes into your place of business.  Guess you can't have it all!
